Starting day break
You wake up to see
You're covered with mud
All the way up to your sleeves
Your friend is yelling
Telling you what to do
You ask him for help
To find out his doom.
You race to help him
While bullets fly by
Carry him to safety
Telling him it will be alright
Race him to the hospital
To find out
He has lost too much blood
And is cold out
Next day you lie awake
To find enemies coming
Charging your camp
While you're sitting there wondering
The Enemies Yonder!!!
The sergeant yells
Gun fire begins
And seems to propel
Yet it doesn't stop
You think for awhile
Staring at a picture
Just to see her smile
Fighting all day
Can't sleep at night
Is a common day
Of a soldier's life
One moment you're safe
Or at least you think
Then a bullet hits you
When you had to blink
Sent home to your family
To find out and see
Your baby boy you left
Is already in his teens
He looks at you plainly
No tears in his eyes
Sees a stanger infront him
You begin to cry
Days go by
You wonder about his life
He then replies
Why don't you ask your wife
She tells you don't worry
He'll get used to you soon
Just give him some time
He'll soon say I Love You
